Re: [VOTE] Release ServiceMix 4.3.0

I tested the ODE installation and it went well.

In previous releases, Serivcemix included ode-jbi-bundle, so when I submitted my patch to switch to the ODE packaging I thought I had included "ode" as a feature to place into the distribution repo.  It does not seem to be included any more (it includes ode-jbi-karaf, which is the feature xml), which isn't all that bad considering there are other components to which a feature bundle exists with pointers to maven coordinates to bundles that are not redistributed.  I do think, however, that some users will be unable to install ODE because of firewall issues, etc.  So that might be a point to remedy in a later release.  It's a one-liner to the assembly/pom.xml during features-maven-plugin to include bundles for ode:

                                <feature>ode</feature>

Which I'm not sure is desirable or not.
Looks good though....my bpel tests included the one of the example bpel and the PMAPI, which both work.

Charles Moulliard
Hi,

Why this release does not include Pax - web 1.0.0, Aries 0.3 (but
0.2-incubating) ?

Regards,

Charles

Re: [VOTE] Release ServiceMix 4.3.0

Jean-Baptiste Onofré
Because it's powered by Karaf 2.1.3.

For Aries 0.3 and Pax Web 1.0, you have to wait SMX 4.4.0, based on
Karaf 2.2.0.

JB

Charles,

I raised https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SMX4-760 to get this
addressed.  Would you be OK with adding that to the list of known
issues on the release notes, as it's probably not the most common use
case for many users of ServiceMix and there's an easy workaround for
it?

Re: [VOTE] Release ServiceMix 4.3.0

Jean-Baptiste Onofré
Thanks Gert,

I'm agree to just document it in the release note for now.

Regards
JB

-1  , sorry :-(
I think not being able to install camel-core feature is *really*
annoying especially when we push people toward using Camel ...
Given we don't do many releases, I'd rather have them in a good shape
before shipping them out.

Though, as always, a release is a non vetoable majority vote ...

[CANCEL] [VOTE] Release ServiceMix 4.3.0

Jean-Baptiste Onofré
Agree,

I cancel the release to recut a new one including:
- the Kurt's fix concerning ODE packaging
- the fix concerning Charles' issue around camel-core

I'm gonna remove the tag, drop the repo and rollback the release.
A new release will be submitted tonight or early tomorrow morning.

Thanks
Regards
JB

I reported this earlier in the week, but it is also odd that doing the installation of the camel-nmr feature would result in a failure, given the importance of "nmr" and "camel" in many discussions.

I don't have a vote, of course, but it doesn't look good.  In the servicemix features.xml, you have:

        <bundle>mvn:org.apache.servicemix.camel/org.apache.servicemix.camel.component/4.3.0</bundle>
Which isn't included in the distro.
