start ServiceMix 2.0.2 within Eclipse

Thorsten Möller
Hi all,

I have to start ServiceMix within Eclipse in order to debug self written
components. Currently I use remote debugging, which means that I start
ServiceMix outside of Eclipse and use a "Remote Java Application" debug
configuration to connect to the JVM from Eclipse. But I rather want to start
ServiceMix directly from Eclipse because it would be more convenient (and
faster). Is there any configuration or documentation available on how to set
up a Eclipse debug configuration, i.e. which libraries to include and so on.

Thanks,
Thorsten

Hi,

I actually try to do the same as you. I also expirienced a lot of problems while
trying to do this.
I think it would be extremly useful to know with which libs the code was
written. Especially because i experience compile errors which not originate
from missing libs but from wrong signatures of (used)methods in the SM code.

with the  libraries and src paks listed below i got the Core and the

Have you tried running "maven eclipse" from the project root?

Then run the main class "org.servicemix.Main".

I am a fan of IDEA on my own and run servicemix within Intellij but I can't debug correctly the code.
I can't see the value of the local parameters.
Could you explain what parameters you set to the VM ?

By the way sorry for my english...thank you

RE: start ServiceMix 2.0.2 within Eclipse

Seguy
I'm having some problems using one drools example...

When I deploy my drools example I get an error asking for commons jci jar, at last
I suppose is the jakarta commons jci and not other somewhat jci.

All right, this jar is not published yet and I download the source from
subversion site of jakarta, compile it an place the jar in the optional dir of servicemix.

When I deploy again my drools example get another error

Caused by: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError:
org.apache.commons.jci.compilers.JavaCompilerFactory.createCompiler(I)Lorg/apache/commons/jci/compilers/JavaCompiler;

and the method signature from the source of the jakarta subversion site is

public JavaCompiler createCompiler(final String pHint)

Obviously is no the same signature.
Where I can find the correct jci jar that
is compatible with servicemix ??

I use the servicemix apache-servicemix-3.0-M2-incubating, jdk5 and drools drools-all-jdk5-2.5-beta-2.jar

By the way sorry about my poor english.

Hello,

I get the needed jars unzipping the component that I want to use.
In such manner my Intellij ide don't complain from bad signatures.
